Missions Committee

“Be doers of the word, and not merely hearers only…” (James 1:22)

First Congregational Church has been honoring Christ’s call to serve those in need and speak out for justice for more than 284 years.

We strive to help the local community and the world at large.

Locally, we donate to Main Spring House in Brockton, MA, helping the homeless; South Shore Habitat for Humanity, helping one low income family at a time to buy a home; and Interfaith Social Services in Quincy, MA to help families facing hard times.

We also support the Friendly Food Pantry of Randolph. Committees and groups within the church organize various fundraisers utilizing music, breakfasts, dinners or bake sales to raise funds to help support these and other charitable causes.

Further, we make offerings to the Ministries of the United Church of Christ; World Services; Health Services; and Homeland Ministries.

Ukraine Relief

We have all seen the devastation that is the fallout of the war in Ukraine. The loss of life, military and civilian, is gut-wrenching. The number of refugees had topped well over one million and is growing hourly.

Many people feel helpless and are looking for ways to reach out with compassion. Our church will be receiving a collection for Ukraine throughout the month of March. All funds we receive will go towards our United Church of Christ Ukraine relief efforts You can read about it at 2 of their websites

One of the strengths of our denomination is that, because we offer ongoing support for administration through our annual giving, all of the funds we send for such relief efforts will go directly to aid. Please make your checks out to "FCCRANDOLPH" and bring them or send them to our church anytime during the month of March. AND: On the lower left corner of your check note “Ukraine Relief.”

In addition, our Mission Committee has researched some other well-known organizations that have a good rating for the work they do and how effectively they use the monies they receive from donors. You may also give to any of these organizations listed below.

Together we can help make a difference.

We Filled the Backpacks!

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”    ~ Galatians 6: 2

We were never meant to do life alone. We need the love and care of others, as much as we are needed by others in the same ways.

Thank you all for your generosity in filling the backpacks!  Our backpack donations were delivered to ISS in Quincy, and they were so appreciative of our contribution. Let's keep loving and caring for our friends and neighbors...
