“Be doers of the word, and not merely hearers only…” (James 1:22)
First Congregational Church has been honoring Christ’s call to serve those in need and speak out for justice for more than 284 years.
We strive to help the local community and the world at large.
Locally, we donate to Main Spring House in Brockton, MA, helping the homeless; South Shore Habitat for Humanity, helping one low income family at a time to buy a home; and Interfaith Social Services in Quincy, MA to help families facing hard times.
We also support the Friendly Food Pantry of Randolph. Committees and groups within the church organize various fundraisers utilizing music, breakfasts, dinners or bake sales to raise funds to help support these and other charitable causes.
The Ladies Benevolent Association (LBA) leads the congregation in preparing Hygiene, School and Layette Kits for Church World Service for distribution to the needy. The LBA also donates to several charitable organizations such as the Salvation Army.
We also have a knitting group, “Steeple Stitchers” that knits and crochets hats, cancer caps, afghans, prayer shawls etc, to give to those in hospitals or homes.
